Coastal Trains of New England
July 16-21, 2012

The railroad once tied New England together. In the early years of the last century when the region’s rail network was at its peak, tracks criss crossed the six New England states to virtually every city and town. Locomotives hauled coal and cotton and took out manufactured goods for the rest of the nation. Passengers rode the coaches and sleepers that stopped at thousands of urban and rural depot. Return with us to that time ‘gone by’ when you could smell the coal smoke and hot oil. That time when you heard the shriek of the whistle, the clanking of the rods and the rapid fire sound of the exhaust that signaled the arrival of a train. Come with us and ride the rails of New England! For a detailed itinerary or to make a reservation please call Marti Marra of Platinum Adventures at 847-784-1354.
